Engaging, moving, welcoming, sweet, tender, caring. I was moved to tears in the collective slow dance. It touched me deeply.”
Carer
The show has gentle references to
pre and postpartum experiences.

This show is for babies 0 - 12 months and their carers
(parents, guardians, foster parents, grandparents, aunties, support workers)...
We aspire to reach audiences who:
-
Had a love of attending the theatre prior to their baby and who now face new barriers to engaging with the arts.
-
Those who have not experienced arts and cultural activities before, but who want to for their baby and/or themselves.
-
Carers who are seeking new and meaningful ways to connect with others with similar experiences.
-
People that love the arts.
Who is the

A restorative, immersive experience where carer and baby can be soothed and inspired, celebrating the unique relationship forged in the first year of life.
Prior to the performance, we take audiences through a restorative optional movement session as a moment for them to arrive in the space, connect with their babies and also perform movements that they often do in isolation at home with others experiencing similar things to them.
10 minute optional movement activity
This show can be adapted for different spaces including:
Family Hubs
libraries

WHAT OUR LOVELY PARENTS SAY
You noticed that the baby wanted to see the lights and you didn’t take it away but offered it gently and so many mothers felt safe to feed their child.”

“You held the space so safely and this was clear in the pre-communication. You understand that you don’t always need to give them something to do.

WHO ARE
KDE DANCE?
At Katie Dale-Everett Dance, we create inspiring interdisciplinary creative opportunities for all to discover more about themselves and others, leading to kinder, better-connected and healthier communities, approaching this often by co-creating with people who have had limited or no access to the arts before.
Our core values when making and programming work is to:
-
Inspire creative engagement within all communities, including those currently disengaged.
-
Advocate for the arts as a tool to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
-
Provide accessible, inclusive and meaningful ways for people to share their stories and participate.
We tour work to untraditional performance spaces including schools, libraries, community centres, homeless shelters, festivals, bespoke bookings for arts organisations and their communities and our hope for 2025 family hubs. We have also toured to theatres.
